Call for Donations to Support a New Residence

Dear Readers:

My pattern is to blog only twice per month but I am adding an extra blog posting this month to support a very special program for homeless women veterans and encourage each of you to contribute.

I am joining with True North Retreat Center to support a new residence for homeless woman veterans which is opening in Winchendon in early September.

The Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center recently purchased a house in Winchendon which is being rehabbed over the summer. The residence will house 7-9 homeless woman veterans for stays of up to two years during their recovery and readjustment to civilian life.

This support comes in the form of seeking donations of supplies for two individual bedrooms. The needed supplies include:

Sheets (single)
Blankets
Pillows
Bedspreads
Lamps (floor or table)
Art and wall décor
Towels & face cloths
4 drawer dresser
Window dressings
Mirror
Area rug
Basket of soaps, shampoo, etc.

Donations can be new or gently used. Also you can write a check (preferably made out to True North Holistic Center). Items can be left in my office at 694 Main Street in Holden.

If you would like more information about this project go to www.truenorthholisticcenter.org. Or you can call Merry Cole the director of True North at (978) 820-1139.

This is a fabulous way to support those who have fought for our country. I encourage you to contribute whatever you can.

If you have any questions about this project please feel free to call me at any time (508) 829-5510.
